SATIN POLYURETHANE

For protecting and beautifying interior timber and cork floors. Handley-Urethane Satin is a One Can Polyurethane which cures by absorbing moisture out of the atmosphere to form a tough resilient coating which has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance.

Handley-Urethane Satin should not be applied over other finishes without prior testing for adhesion.

Caring for your Urethane Satin Floor. As complete curing of a Handley-Urethane Satin floor takes some 7 days care must be exercised during this time. Avoid dragging furniture etc. over the surface. Use protective mats in traffic areas. To extend the life of the floor, mats should be used in doorways in order to remove dirt and grit from feet. Protective pads should be used on the legs of furniture. The floor should be vacuumed or swept frequently and washed with 1/4 cup methylated spirits to 5ltrs of hot water.

COVERAGE: 8-10 sq. Meters/liter approximately.

DIRECTIONS

Surface must be clean, dry (less than 18% moisture) and free from wax, grease or dust. Timber must be fine sanded with 100 grit sandpaper. Cork tiles should be fine sanded with 100-120 grit sandpaper. Vacuum floor thoroughly.

PLEASE NOTE: STIR CONTENTS WELL (DO NOT SHAKE) – AVOID APPLYING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT

Apply three coats of Handley-Urethane Satin OR one coat of Handley-Urethane Gloss and two coats of Handley-Urethane Satin, using a soft broad brush or approved roller. Allow overnight to dry between coats. Sand lightly and vacuum after each coat. Ensure that there is good ventilation during application.

Residual material should NOT be returned to the container as it may contaminate the entire contents causing it to thicken.

Wash brushes after use with Handley-Solvent Brush Cleaner. Allow Handley-Urethane Lo-Sheen to dry overnight before subjecting to light traffic. Complete curing takes approximately seven days.

RE-COATING

Wash the floor with hot water and a little detergent. Lightly sand/disk floor with 120 grit sandpaper. Vacuum the floor thoroughly and wash with Handley-Solvent Reglaze. Apply one coat of Handley-Urethane Lo-Sheen and allow to dry overnight. Lightly sand/disk floor with 240 grits, vacuum and apply a second coat of Handley-Urethane Satin.

CAUTION CONTAINS ISOCYANATES This product may be harmful by inhalation. Do not breathe vapour.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. We recommend that you use a respirator when regulary applying this product. Safety equipment is available from Handley Industries Limited. When applying the initial coats, ensure there is good ventilation by opening all windows and doors. This is not recommended for final coats because it increases the risk of contamination by atmospheric dust.

HIGHLY FLAMMABLE Keep well away from heat, sparks and open flame.

VAPOUR Keep closed when not in use.

FIRST AID INSTRUCTIONS

This product contains liquid hydrocarbons and less than 1% free organic Isocyanates. Handle only in well-ventilated areas or with an approved respirator.  If poisoning occurs, contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water.
